30 years on, the company is going from strength to strength and from it has grown "The Northern Academy of Performing Arts".

Offering over 40 classes and courses in all areas of the performing arts, it is now the most comprehensive training facility in the North East.

Our ethos at NAPA has always been to offer the highest level of practical training, so our staff consists of professionals who have either worked or are still working in the industry.

We not only encourage excellence in the many talented students who pass through our doors, but we also recognise the importance that dance, music and drama training play in building confidence and personality.

The college runs classes in everything from Costume Design to Tai Chi, Street Dance to Stage Combat, along side nearly every discipline of dance, drama and musical theatre. Our students, who range from 3 to 80 years old, benefit from the fun yet focused approach of the Academy and the vibrant surroundings of the Grade 2 listed building.

We also have a strong presence in the community, with many of our staff working in an outreach capacity with disengaged children and children with special educational needs.
