Three Year ISTD Teacher Training Course

The Academy offers a three year Teacher Training Programme for students wishing to become teachers of Dance in ISTD Classical Ballet, Modern and Tap.

The Programme is designed to produce the subject knowledge, Skills and expertise to enter into the field of Dance teaching.

The Academy follows the Foundation in Dance Instruction (level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework) and the Certificate in Dance Education (level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework), both of which are qualifications recognised by the QCA (Qualifications Curriculum Authority).

Students must be a minimum of 17 years of age (on the 1st of September in the year of entry) and must be working towards Advanced 1 level in their chosen genres (Ballet, Modern and Tap) to be considered for the course.

The College week runs Monday to Thursday 8.30 to 5.10pm

Entry is by audition only and these are held at various times throughout the year, places being strictly limited.

Students will study Classical Ballet, Modern and Tap as well as Jazz and  Contemporary. Many other areas of the performing arts are covered as well.
