 Outreach : About Outreach
The Academy takes pride in the varied amount of outreach work that it does, both in the Academy itself, such as; delivering dance and drama to the special teenage mothers unit as well as street jazz classes to girls with poor school attendance records, or our outside work with dance and drama in various primary schools in the city. In this area we help to supplement and support the schools curriculum providing expertise in specialised area of work. The outreach staff at the Academy are all CRB checked and specialise in areas that include children with profound physical and mental learning difficulties. For this work the Academy's outreach staff have developed their own strategies for teaching the subject. No child is denied our work no matter how severe their disability may be. We are firmly of the belief that all children can paticipate and engage in both dance and drama, and in so doing help their communication skills and help stimulate their learning potential.
