Fleeing from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small-time East End hood, now in Bristol to collect £6,000 from his fiancée’s dad. But ‘Roscoe’ is really his twin sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers.
The permanently hungry Francis decides to take up a second job working for Stanley Stubbers. As the plot becomes more complicated, he desperately tries to keep his two guvnors apart, with hilarious results.
