We’re looking for two part-time receptionists to cover our reception here at NAPA.

Our reception is extremely busy, and the first point of call for information for our many visitors, staff and volunteers.

We’re looking for two receptionists to join our incredible team, sharing 26 hours of reception cover across a week (school term time only).

These self-employed roles will cover 26 hours per week between the two roles, the exact share to be decided depending on availability. Normal working hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 4pm and 9pm and Saturday between 8.30am and 2.30pm. There may occasionally be extra hours for performances and special events.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting and greeting all visitors to NAPA
  • Answering telephone calls in a timely fashion, taking clear and detailed messages
  • Dealing with parent and student queries about classes, rehearsals and performances in person, via the telephone and via email
  • Taking payments for classes via cash, credit card and Apple/Google Pay
  • Handling ticket bookings for theatre shows
  • Working alongside the admin team to ensure the smooth running of NAPA’s activities
  • Assisting with room bookings and NAPA’s staff events calendar
  • Maintaining security at NAPA
  • Overseeing safety of the reception area with a key role as part of NAPA’s fire safety and evacuation plan
  • Assisting with any facility issues as they happen
  • Monitoring and managing first-aid box supplies

We are looking for someone with the following qualities/experience:

Essential

  • Confident and friendly personality
  • Ability to work in a (sometimes) stressful environment
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Exceptional IT skills including experience of using MS Word, Excel, and cloud based software
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • The ability to work as part of a busy team

Desired

  • Experience of front of house work on a busy reception
  • Experience of using Ticketsource and other CRM based software
  • Experience of working with young people of all ages

In order to be considered for this role we will undertake right to work checks, require references and you will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as well as be available for first-aid, fire safety and other relevant training.
